Riyadh – Mubasher: A source familiar with Saudi Binladin group said that the recent fire accident in Jeddah was result to a car accident.

“Workers got angry and set fire in a number of company busses after an accountant hit three employees by his car while he was escaping the crowd, leaving one dead and two injured,” the source told Mubasher, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Ten employees entered the accountant’s office as they though that he had their salaries, then workers began to crowd around the office,” he added.

The source confirmed that the Saudi group laid off about 50,000 workers, noting that the action started last September.

The firm received dues worth SAR 6 billion from Saudi Arabia, and expected to get another amount, the source added.
